As I flipped the page on my calendar from September to October, it just reminded me how fast time flies and how short life is. Where did this year go? Before I know it, I will wake up and it will be 2014.
Time is so fleeting yet we continue to procrastinate on the important things in our life. If there is something you need to do, take time to do it today. Clearly tomorrow is not promised. We make our lists and mark our calendars but some of those important items may end up getting pushed back farther and farther.
If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans.
This quote is true but God gives us assignments and it’s up to us to follow through.
I’ve been, so called, working on my book all year. In reality, most days it’s just been sitting on a thumb drive. I had a goal, a date on the calendar that it’s suppose to be complete and that date is almost here. Unfortunately, I’m barely half way there. I continue to have my to-do list, but I get caught up in other things or just tired and not feeling like it. And so it remains on a list with no line crossed through it.
I agree there are not always enough hours in the day but make time for those things that are important. Maybe you just want to spend more time with family or friends. Maybe you have a life changing project in the works but you haven’t started the process. Whatever it may be, don’t put it off any longer.
You will find great pleasure in the accomplishment of crossing it off the list or seeing the end result of your hard work manifest before your eyes.
I believe in you and know you can do it. And I will also take my own advice and get busy. Let’s accomplish what we set out to accomplish.
“My advice is to never do tomorrow what you can do today. Procrastination is the thief of time.” ― Charles Dickens
